This tour is ideal for those looking to make the most of their stay in Lima by visiting its main historical and cultural attractions in a short time, guided by an expert who will unveil every detail of the Peruvian capital’s past and present.
MODERN LIMA
We begin the tour with a visit to the Miraflores district, where we will explore the famous Parque del Amor (The Park of Love), which offers a beautiful view of Lima's coastline and the Pacific Ocean. We will then enjoy a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial pyramid-shaped temple that has preserved much of its original structure over the years. Afterward, we will walk through Bosque El Olivar in the district of San Isidro, considered the financial center of the city.
COLONIAL LIMA
We will visit the city's historic center, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Known as the "City of Kings," Lima invites us to explore Plaza San Martín, where we will admire its beautiful architecture, balconies, and old colonial mansions. We will also visit the iconic Hotel Bolívar, located in the same square. We will then head to Plaza Mayor, where we can admire the Government Palace, Lima Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and Desamparados Station, among others.
CONVENT AND CATACOMBS OF SAN FRANCISCO
We will end the tour with a visit to one of the most important convents of the 17th century. We will explore the ancient library, the choir, the main cloister, and the underground crypts known as the catacombs.
San Francisco Convent and Catacombs
This 17th-century convent is renowned for its impressive library, which houses thousands of ancient books, many of them unique on the continent.
The catacombs served as Lima’s primary cemetery during the colonial period, with an estimated 25,000 people buried within.
Its vaulted ceilings and underground passageways create a mysterious atmosphere that fascinates visitors.
Lima Fountains – Magic Water Circuit
This complex features 13 cybernetic fountains that combine water, lights, and music in a stunning visual display.
The Tunnel of Surprises Fountain allows you to walk beneath an arch of water, while the Fantasy Fountain presents a synchronized show with music and images projected onto water screens.
Colonial Lima
Plaza San Martín, inaugurated in 1921, is a tribute to the liberator José de San Martín. Its imposing buildings with wooden balconies are silent witnesses to Peru’s republican past.
In the Plaza Mayor, every building holds centuries of history. The Government Palace serves as the residence of the President of Peru, while the Cathedral of Lima houses the remains of conquistador Francisco Pizarro.
