Two days trip of Lake Titicaca in Puno is an excellent way to know about the culture and tradition. It offers an overnight stay at a local family home on Amantani Island.
As the half day trip and day trip, this also starts with a visit to Uros Floating Islands. Uros Islands are something you cannot afford to miss. It is quite distinct in the whole country if not South America.
Amantani Island is also home to two peaks. These peaks are called “pacha tata” and “pacha mama” where you can see archaeological remains center of worship and culture. Its nature is lavish in beautiful landscapes that contrast with the vastness of the TITICACA LAKE.
Taquile Island maintains its unique charm. People living here have maintained their years old traditions and customs.
It is easy to reach from Cusco to Lake Titicaca. Puno is the nearest major city to Lake Titicaca. There are many regular busses from Cusco to Puno. Juliaca Airport is the only and the nearest airport to Puno/Lake Titicaca. It roughly takes 40 minutes to fly to Juliaca from Cusco.
Also you can experience the scenic train ride from Cusco to Puno. Andean Explorer Train is one of the renowned and most preferred train journey from Cusco to Puno.
Puno Hotel Transfer

At 0745 in the morning we will be picking you up from your hotel in Puno. We will then travel to the boat pier. After a quick introduction speech from the guide, we will start the trip with a short boat ride to Uros Floating islands. These floating islands are built using totora grass. Our guide will give you a detailed tour. You will also be introduced to the process how the island is built. The locals from these islands will welcome you and will introduce you to their traditions and culture.
After touring Uros Island, we will travel to Amantani Island. As the boat will be docking on the shores of the island, locals will meet you and will be welcoming you. Our guide will introduce you to the host family.
After having lunch with them at their home, you will have some free time to walk around the fields and see their way of life. In the evening, along with the group, we will start our trip to Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama peaks. These peaks are considered to be sacred. You will get an enchanting view of sunset from the top of the peak.
At night, after dinner, you will be invited to the community hall where you can unwind the day to a live Andean folkloric music.
At 0700 in the morning, after having breakfast, we will walk back to the boat pier. Here you will be boarding the boat to Taquile Island. It takes almost two and a half hours to reach Taquile from Amantani.
Upon docking in on the shores of the island, you will be walking up the hill to ta view point. Our guide will give you a detailed tour. You will be introduced to the life and culture of Taquileños.
Taquile Island is famous for its craft production, particularly for its beautiful textiles. The island is narrow only about 1 KM wide, but 6 to 7 Km. long, on Taquile there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and Inca terracing.
After lunch we will travel back to Puno. The tour ends by 0430 PM.
